About AFP-Nevada
Nevadans are facing unprecedented hurdles, from rising costs of living to the housing affordability struggles, compounded by burdensome regulations that limit opportunities. AFP NV exists to change that by advocating for transformational policies that will remove barriers to opportunities. Our vision isn’t about partisan politics-it’s about people.
Priorities
EMPOWERING INDIVIDUALS: UNLEASHING POTENTIAL
Reform occupational licensing laws and make it easier for Nevadans to pursue their passions and provide for their families. AFP-NV will drive advocacy for many issues to unlock economic opportunities for Nevadans including:
Supporting portable benefits for self-employed workers
Supporting universal recognition on occupational licensure
EDUCATION: EMPOWERING PARENTS, INSPIRING STUDENTS
Advocate for educational freedom, expanding options, and ensuring every student has access to quality learning. Our priorities include:
Broadening open enrollment opportunities.
Safeguarding and enhancing Nevada Opportunity Scholarship Program.
HEALTHCARE: PATIENT CENTERED, QUALITY, AFFORDABLE CARE
We envision a health care system that empowers patients to make choices that are right for them and empowering health care professionals they trust to provide high-quality care at prices people can afford.
Address physician shortage by streamlining state medical licensure requirements for international medical graduates, allowing them to practice and bring their skills to serve our communities.
PROTECTING PERSONAL PRIVACY: SAFEGUARDING FREE SPEECH
Support legislation such as the Personal Protection Privacy Act (PPPA) to safeguard individual privacy rights by preventing government overreach into nonprofit membership and donor lists. Ensuring that citizens can support causes they believe in without fear of intimidation or exposure is critical to upholding free speech and association. By passing PPPA, lawmakers can protect personal privacy while maintaining transparency in government operations, fostering trust and civic engagement.

Americans For Prosperity believes that every child deserves the freedom to pursue the education that best fits the needs, regardless of income or zip code. Education Savings accounts are state-supervised flexible spending accounts containing public funds that can be used to pay for a variety of approved education-related Services. With an ESA, parents access their child’s education funds, and transfer funds to the approved expenses such as private or nontraditional schools, courses, programs and services of their choice. Join Americans for Prosperity in supporting ESAs by telling your representative to prioritize ESAs in future legislation and empower Nevadan families to make the education choices that fit the needs of their child
Thank your lawmaker for passing SB124
Nevada is facing a critical shortage of physicians that is intensifying due to an aging workforce, growing population, and overburdensome licensure requirements. This shortage of providers is affecting our state, with over 947,000 residents living in a health professional shortage area. To begin addressing this shortage of providers, qualified foreign physicians that have been trained in comparable programs outside of the United States must be given a reasonable pathway to licensure as a physician in the state. The solution is coming soon with the passage of SB 124 that creates the pathway for qualified foreign physicians to practice. At Americans for Prosperity, we are committed to bringing people together to implement good public policy. Citizens joining together to amplify their voices is an American tradition that predates the founding, and it is essential to continued progress toward the American ideal. And when citizens join together to speak with one voice, the First Amendment of the constitution protects their right to do so – agents of the government should never attempt to leak private information or silence an individual’s speech. AB197 is a bill that protects the free speech of all Nevadans by protecting private information for support of specific causes
